Please note that we will continue with our staggered start and finish times until July. We therefore continue to ask you as parents and carers to support us by being extra careful and keeping to the following guidance;

  • Only one parent should drop off and pick up children - please wear face masks/coverings when doing so
  • Please do not stand in groups but keep to social distancing guidance and line up along the fences on the white markers
  • If you need to come to the school office please make appointments. Please wear a face mask and do not just turn up as we are continuing to restrict access to the school building

Attendance & Punctuality

Please make sure that your child/children attend school on time every day unless they are ill. Please also follow the government’s guidance regarding travel at this time,

people should not travel to ‘amber’ and ‘red’ countries, and strict rules on testing and quarantine remain in place to protect public health’ (DfE 2021).

Please note that the school may ask for evidence of a negative COVID test and/or evidence of completed quarantine should the need arise.

School Uniform

We expect all children to return to school wearing the correct Donnington Primary School uniform. Please contact the school office if you need to replace anything. Please also note that children should wear their PE kit to school on the day of their PE lesson and bring their own labelled water bottle each day.

The Curriculum

We have gradually re-introduced all areas of the curriculum and plan to take each class on a short walk to Roundwood Park during the next half term. We will continue to monitor the situation regarding COVID and will update you nearer the time.

Class teachers will not be planning any other educational visits this term and unfortunately we will not be able to invite parents to come into the school to attend assemblies.

Gordon Brown

We have booked the Gordon Brown Centre for May 2022 and will be holding two parents’ information meetings during the week beginning 21st June 2021. Specific dates for the meetings will be confirmed after half term.

Behaviour & Safeguarding

I am pleased to report that behaviour remains ‘good’ at Donnington and as you know we are a very happy school.

Please speak to Ms Adae (Deputy Head) or me if you have any safeguarding concerns.

Thank you for all that you’re doing and demonstrating such patience and understanding.

Please continue to support your children as much as possible and contact their class teachers should you need to discuss their well-being or progress.

Best Wishes,

Ms Harrison
