KS2 French Storytelling Session
Fri 21 Oct 2022Bonjour!
KS2 got to experience a morning of storytelling entirely in French by the Freshwater Theatre Company. The children watched and heard the two stories of the Three Little Pigs & Goldilocks and the Three Bears. They did some fantastic listening and speaking.
The wonderful Martina Schwartz performed her songs in French using an amazing accordion too.
The children enjoyed learning French in a fun way :)

Black History
Tue 18 Oct 2022At Donnington we learn about Black History throughout the year.
In addition to our usual Black History work we celebrate Black History Month which falls in October.
Last week we had a very special visitor to help us celebrate.
Alim Kamara, a British- Sierra Leonean rapper and storyteller, came to entertain the children. The theme was 'African Civilisations' The children enjoyed watching Alim perform stories and play his drums. Children joined in the drama and chanted positive affirmations. The older children wrote 'Reflections'. The younger children dressed up in African print tabards. A fantastic time was had by all!

Volunteers needed!
Mon 10 Oct 2022Can you spare some time to help our fantastic children with their learning at Donnington?
Are you able to offer us a few hours a week to support children with their English and Maths?
Maybe you have a few hours to spare to help with the running of our planned Breakfast Club.
If you are able to help us then please give your name and contact details to Ms Chana or Ms Christiana in the school office.
Please note that we will carry out enhanced DBS checks on all suitable volunteers before you can support in classes.
