  • Extreme Weather - June 2026

Tue 23 Jun 2026 Ms Harrison

Due to the hot weather we have taken the following precautions:

    • Daily reminders during assemblies and class time for children to drink lots of water and stay in the shade
    • Longer play times for all classes in the morning, with children given explicit guidance about staying in the shade and keeping hydrated
    • Wet play procedures at lunchtime - therefore no children should be outside in the midday sun

Given the forecast for the next two days, we are putting the following in place in addition to the above precautions:

    • Reception parents to collect their children from the front office from 1:00pm onwards
    • Y1/Y2 to be collected from their classrooms at 2:20pm
    • Y3 - Y6 to be collected at 2:30 pm from the hall (main playground entrance)

Years 1-6 have air conditioning units built into each classroom, and so we are able to keep the class temperatures down through the day. However, we are also aware that the increasing temperatures in the afternoon will make a number of your journeys home very challenging.

As always, please remember to apply suncream in the morning and ensure that your child is wearing the correct summer uniform – this may include a plain sun hat.

Finally, please ensure that all children are collected by 2:30pm, if your child is in years 4-6 and usually walks home by themselves, please fill out the reply slip below to confirm your continued permission.

Thank you for your continued support,

    Ms Harrison

  • FODS Sponsored bounce and walk - 15th May 2026

    Tue 05 May 2026

On Friday 15th May all of the children will be taking part in the annual FODS Sponsored Bounce and Walk to help raise funds and to have some fun along the way! Among other things, this year we will be raising money for coaches to take children on school trips.

In the morning, all of the children from Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 will go to Willesden Sports Centre’s running track. The children will walk (or jog!) around the track as many times as they can, and we will keep track of how many laps they complete. Children from Playgroup, Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will take turns to have a bounce on a bouncy castle in school.

In the afternoon, Key Stage Two children will take turns on the bouncy castle in the school hall – just for fun!

While children from Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will make a Walking Train and walk around the school block. Parents are welcome to support our Walking Train by walking with us. We will be leaving via the playground gate at 1.30pm.

Please ask family, friends and neighbours to support our school by sponsoring your child. Every penny and pound raised will help us to provide the children with experiences that the school would not otherwise be able to afford. ALL OF THE MONEY RAISED IS USED ON OUR CHILDREN.

We need your help! Vote for Donnington at participating Tesco stores, and ask friends, family, and neighbours to vote for us too.

Thank you for your continued support,

  • Winter Fair

    Thu 20 Nov 2025

We would like to invite you to our annual Winter fair, to be held on Thursday 4th December 2025 from 3.30pm-5.00pm-free entry. This will be a wonderful way to close the December school term. There will be loads of activities for children and adults to participate in and a winter wonderland theme for everyone to enjoy. Plus, there will be plenty of food and refreshments.

To make the raffle possible, we require donations for prizes. If you have anything you can donate, that would be amazing! This could include any unwanted gifts you have, vouchers, books, chocolates etc. All donations must be unused or nearly new items.

Please also inform any local businesses, that would be able to support this event via donations. Donations from local businesses would be much appreciated.

All your donations are greatly appreciated and with your support, we can continue to make this a great place for our children.

As always, FODS are looking for volunteers to help with the event, so please get in touch if you’d like to help on the night or even if you are looking to be part of the FODS team.

We look forward to seeing you all at the fair!
