Hello Year 3,

I hope you are all coping with the closure and are still studying and keeping healthy.

Here is the latest update to our class page.

I have been so happy to see students logging in to Showbie and accessing the weekly work I have been setting. I have enjoyed marking your work and giving you feedback on these tasks. If you have not accessed Showbie yet please follow the steps below to set up your account and get started. It is very important we try to keep studying and learning during this time. I will continue to keep marking all the work that is sent to me via Showbie. Please note: As of Friday 3rd April we are on our Easter Holidays so during this time I will not be logging in daily and marking work. I will log in again to mark and collect work on Monday 20^th April. But don’t worry! I have added many useful and fun activities to keep you busy and learning during the holidays including science experiments, art projects and history research assignments!

You DON’T need an email address to sign up. ‘Sign Up’ Where it says ‘Join a Class’, enter the code _________ to join our class Please only join once. Please don’t join other year groups. If you forget your password contact your class teacher by emailing year3@donnington.brent.sch.uk

Please remember to keep reading every day and to practice your times tables. I think it would be a really good idea if you started to keep a diary too – we are going through a very interesting time and in the future people would learn lots about history by reading about your lives! You could draw pictures and write sentences about what you do each day and keep them together to make a book!

Super Sentence Stackers

May I just say that I strongly recommend the Sentence Stacking videos with Jane Considine. She clearly breaks down how to structure a sentence and models the writing the same way I would with the class in person. I truly believe these videos will support your child’s writing during this time. Everyday she introduces a new video to engage the children. She even takes the writing sent in on her channel and creates a nationwide story! Please check it out! I have attached the video which explains how it works. The rest of the videos are on her Youtube channel which are released daily and easy to find.

I have been completing a daily work out and I hope you all have been keeping active as well! PE with Joe Wicks is a fun way to wake up in the morning and keep fit! The whole family can join in! He premieres a new workout daily at 9am. I have attached the link below.
