  • Queen Elizabeth II

Fri 09 Sep 2022 Ms Harrison

The Donnington pupils and staff were very sad to hear of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and would like to join with the rest of the country in extending our best wishes to the Royal Family.

Today, we had a special assembly and discussed the reasons why so many people who didn't personally know the Queen might be sad. We spoke about losing people, our feelings and how we could help each other if our friends ever become sad.

Recently we were lucky enough to receive a thank you card from Buckingham Palace on behalf of the Queen for some art work which celebrated her Platinum Jubilee. Ms Roots and the children who attended art club during the Summer Term sent a collage of their work to the Queen and we received a personal card and message during the holiday.

The pupils at Donnington Primary School continue to make us all proud.

  • Extreme Weather

Fri 15 Jul 2022 Ms Harrison

As you know we are about to experience a significant heatwave and the government has raised the weather alert to a Level 4 National Emergency.

At present Donnington will be open as usual but we may contact you on Monday to collect your children early.

Please make sure that children are dressed in their PE kit on both Monday 18th  and Tuesday 19th July and they come to school with their  water bottle. Wide brimmed hats are also advisable and children should not wear school jumpers.

We will be keeping children inside the building from 11am to avoid the extreme heat.

We aim for Sports Day to go ahead as planned on Wednesday 20th July but will keep you informed.

Please continue to check this website over the weekend as further updates may be posted before Monday morning.

    Best Wishes and stay safe.
